Now Enrolling for Fall 2023/24!

The CCCS Community: “It’s like we are all just friends around here.”

A healthy community and culture don’t just happen by accident, they are carefully cultivated from the top down AND from the bottom up. Every member of a community is important and every member contributes to its culture, health and vitality. At Crook County Christian School, we realize that we need each other!

The Fruit of Biblical Community and Discipleship

No community is perfect because it is composed of imperfect people at every level. But, some communities (biblical communities that foster discipleship) consistently produce fruit that we all want to see in our kids as they develop into productive citizens and followers of Jesus. Nothing is more exciting to us then seeing these things being formed in our students. Recently, one of our parents shared this story with me about the transformation they’ve experienced at CCCS after coming to us from another school:

I heard the very best thing come out of my son’s mouth this morning as we dropped off at school.

I was pulling up in the drop off lane, and a boy was walking into the building, and my son said, “oh, that’s “such and such” (I can’t exactly remember who).

And I asked him, “ is he a friend of yours?” to which my son directly replied, “well kinda… It’s like we are all just friends here.”

Those few simple words: “ it’s like we’re all just friends around here” — PRICELESS . There could be nothing better that I could ever hear. !!!!!!!!!

My son came from an experience last year at public school, where there was so much hurt and degradation. Put downs and insults were the norm. And if you weren’t one of the “in” kids, you were teased and bullied and taunted.

I’m celebrating this statement.

The happiness with which he comes home from school full of the fun, the camaraderie, the learning, the order and the teacher control. It was so different last year. The teachers were not in control of the children’s actions. The 32 kids in class ran the show (the chaos and dissension that comes from that).

There is such order and peace and calm (at CCCS), and from that, comes joy and love. Thank you, teachers, thank you for keeping order. Thank you for keeping an expectation of kindness, and respect, and from that comes love, and people feel safe and accepted and wanted.

So I am celebrating this morning that at CCCS, “we are all just friends around here”

Phenomenal & Gifted Teachers & Staff

One of the things that makes CCCS such a special place and community is our amazing teachers and staff. We couldn’t as for a better team to work with every single day, and the bonding among this team creates a special environment where staff can thrive and feel empowered. Every teacher sees their role as critical to discipleship, and we intentionally invest in our teachers to help them grow professionally and spiritually. As we pour into our teachers, we enable them to pour into students in a way that isn’t dependent upon curriculum. What happens in our classrooms and school simply isn’t possible in the public sector, and isn’t present at many nominal Christian schools (Christian in name only). Here, everybody is a team, supporting, encouraging and mentoring one another. What’s happening in students isn’t by accident, it is expected and carefully cultivated. We don’t just plant seeds, we water them, care for them, and we rejoice when God gives the growth!

Amazing Families & Students

We aren’t exaggerating when we say that we have the best students and families! Our families make it easy to cultivate a healthy community at Crook County Christian School where students flourish. Our parents are supportive, active, cooperative and they partner with our teachers to make sure students are thriving and excelling academically and spiritually. Together, we form a team with each family, and we love coming alongside our families to enable our students to to grow and learn both inside and outside the classroom. We have parents come in every week and tell us how well their kids are doing and that they KNOW that we care for and love their kids. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing students and families growing together!

A Gospel-Centered Community Where Grace Flourishes & Teaches Us How to Live Godly in a Difficult Culture.

For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.

Titus 2:11-14

Crook County Christian School fosters an environment infused with Grace. At the heart of everything we do is the gospel of Jesus and the grace given to us and demonstrated in Christ’s life and death. At CCCS, we intentionally teach and reinforce with our students that we’re empowered to love and forgive one another because Christ has offered us His love and forgiveness. It is by His grace that we are saved, and it is that same grace that partners with the Holy Spirit to help empower us to do the same with one another and to live according to God’s word. Grace trains us to be like Christ and teaches us to live righteously and godly in an age and culture that is anything but godly.

We don’t expect staff, students and families to be perfect…far from it! But, we do consistently point to the Gospel and intentionally foster an environment where love for God and for one another is emphasized and practiced. We’ve been freely given grace and forgiveness, so we are expected to also practice extending that grace to one another. As we continue to intentionally foster that environment, the fruit being produced more and more is that, “We are all just friends around here.”
