It takes a team effort (Parents, Teachers, Staff and Students) to make the first day such a great success, and it came together well across the board! From morning drop-off to afterschool care, and everything in-between it was a great day! Here are a few notable quotes from some of our students:
I don’t normally like school, but this is my favorite school I’ve ever been to!
-Carter (Elementary)
AND
“So far, this is the best school I’ve ever gone to!”
-Gabe (Elementary)
AND
“I love this school, I’m so glad I get to go here!”
-Letty (Elementary)

Afterschool Care

Moving Forward:
With the first day done, the real work begins as we step into more of the academics and learning, and students learn the daily routines.
Morning Assembly
Today we had our first all-school morning assembly, something we do every day (Pledge, Announcements, Prayer, Awards, etc.). It was great to gather together as a team (students/staff) to start the day, and this is a part of the cohesive family culture we want to cultivate here at CCCS!
Chapel
Wednesday chapels begin next week! We are so excited, as this is another all-school even that builds community and focuses on spiritual formation. Chapel is a favorite activity for many students!
Academics
Students really dig into academics this week and next week. Abeka curriculum challenges students to b build solid skills in reading at the earliest levels, and does an excellent job of weaving faith into every subject. Our teachers are also trained to incorporate faith into learning.
Afterschool Care
Afterschool Care was a huge success, and families were so happy to have access to this great new service! Our afterschool care room is a circus/carnival theme, and the kids LOVED it. We also have outdoor time on the playground, and an opportunity for them to work on homework if they have any.
Volunteer Opportunities
Teachers are so excited and in need of volunteers in the classroom for reading with students and other support roles. Parents and family are encouraged to volunteer to help with activities that support teachers in the classroom. Stop by our office and fill out a volunteer form. All our volunteers are background checked.
Long-term Success
While no day can compare to the first day of school, we’re excited by all the overwhelmingly positive feedback and excitement from parents, students, teachers and staff! Undoubtedly part of that success comes from our smaller class sizes and the attention, love and support students receive here. It takes a team, and we’re all in this together!
Thank you to all who have made the start to this year a great success! We have an incredible team here at CCCS, and we look forward to being a favorite school for many for years to come!
