What is the most fulfilling part of your job?
Everyday I walk through the front door I’m surrounded by students and fellow colleagues that I love and enjoy immensely. I get to be a part of sharing the gospel with my students everyday and teaching them about Jesus. I feel like I’m doing something that matters and that is the most fulfilling thing for me.
Why do you love education / teaching? What made you decide to become teacher?
I love teaching because I feel like it’s what God called me to do. He put that desire in my heart. I started homeschooling my sons when they were young and it became a passion of mine.
What do you love about CCCS?
There are many things I love about our school. Let’s start with the small humans that come in my classroom every morning. They bring a huge amount of joy and humor to each day. Kids are hilarious! The families we have are incredible and very supportive.
Our school has been blessed with some of the best people I know. I love our staff and our administration. They serve us well and they equip us every week to love these students like Jesus would.
What motivates you to come to work each day?
Being surrounded by such an amazing community.
How do you measure success in your classroom?
Success is measured by individual growth. Each student is different. I teach a growth mindset in my classroom. The most important thing to me is their effort. Attitude is everything
How do you help students succeed?
You get to know the student individually and meet their needs the best way you can.
What’s your favorite thing to do apart from teaching?
I’m an outdoors girl. When I can pull my son away from the X-box we like hiking, kayaking, and mountain biking.
