2022/23 Highlights & Review: The Halfway Point (Part 2)

2022-23 Review

Today officially marks the halfway point of the 2022/23 school year! In our first post (Part 1), we realized there was more than we could squeeze into one post as we look back on the first half of this year and see the incredible provision and some of the highlights of all that God is doing at Crook County Christian School. We are truly humbled and stand in awe when we have moments to stop and reflect on all that God has done so far. We wanted to share a few more highlights as we look forward to the 2nd half of the year in great anticipation and as we prepare for our fast approaching enrollment for Fall 2023!

Bringing Families Together and Building Community

Some of our favorite memories so far this year are events that have brought students and families together, and have helped developed a real sense of family and community at CCCS. Here are a few highlights:

Family Fun Night

Students and families came for a fun and fast-paced game night! So much fun and fun prizes!

Turkey Lunch

We had an amazing turnout as we served students and their families a special lunch before Thanksgiving Break! Our families had a great time, and the food was great thanks to our amazing volunteer team!

Holiday Bazaar

The Holiday Bazaar was a HUGE success, and we split the proceeds 50/50 between student technology projects and Project Uganda (Kathy Vaughan and Redeemer Ministries Uganda).

Christmas Program (I See a Star)

Perhaps one of our favorite Christmas productions we’ve ever done, students and families had a wonderful time together as we celebrated the birth of Jesus!

Accelerated Reader Launch

Over the summer, we purchased over 2000 books for our accelerated reader program. In December, we purchased/licensed the software, and we’ve been setting everything up as prepare to launch the program. Students are excited, and we purchased the classroom computers to launch this week! Reading is a VERY IMPORTANT emphasis at CCCS, and we are investing in tools to help motivate and encourage strong readers regardless of reading level.

Chapel / Assembly / Character Awards / Spirit Awards

While Chapel is always a highlight every week, we have also added character awards where we recognize students from each class monthly. Additionally, we have morning assembly every day, and an awards assembly every Friday where we draw winners who have received “tickets” all week long for displaying fruits of the Spirit. Additionally, each month one class wins the CCCS Spirit Award for school spirit. Students love chapel, and have responded well to the emphasis on character! Families love awards chapel as well and we love seeing them attend, especially when their student is being recognized!

Looking Ahead

There are so many more highlights we could share including additional donations of equipment, technology, classroom furniture, and so much more! As we look ahead, we’re not only excited about what God has already done, but what He is yet to do. We just recently launched PTF, and we encourage families to get involved as we continue to bless our students and staff and build a community where students, staff and families THRIVE!
